Jeremiah 14:6-8

New International Version

⁶ Wild donkeys stand on the barren heights^(A)
    and pant like jackals;
their eyes fail
    for lack of food.”^(B)

⁷ Although our sins testify^(C) against us,
    do something, Lord, for the sake of your name.^(D)
For we have often rebelled;^(E)
    we have sinned^(F) against you.
⁸ You who are the hope^(G) of Israel,
    its Savior^(H) in times of distress,^(I)
why are you like a stranger in the land,
    like a traveler who stays only a night?
